The accounting profession has changed significantly in recent years, both in the tools used and scope of services offered. The Uniform CPA Examination, therefore, must also change to ensure continued protection of the public interest in a rapidly changing business world.
To this end, a new CPA Examination format is introduced. The new exam is designed to assess knowledge & skills in a context that parallels today's professional environment.
The new exam will be administered through a series of multiple choice questions and case study simulations. The online delivery will use interfaces and controls used by accounting professionals, employing mouse-driven functions with tab-style navigation.
The AICPA has created this hands-on tutorial to help you become familiar with the new exam format. This tutorial will:

| |
a. |
Review the revised examination's format and navigation functions. |
| b. |
Familiarize you with the types of questions included in the computerized exam. These include multiple choice questions and simulations. |
Each exam section contains a number of testlets,
which will contain either multiple choice questions (up to
30) or one simulation.
